Description:	During the 10-year regeneration cycle-from sawtimber stand through clearcutting, site preparation, pine planting, and to the established pine plantations-average net community production in the herb-shrub stratum increased ten-fold, from 369 to 3,462 kg/ha at the peak of each site treatment, and nearly dropped to its initial low level after 10 years.
